Gifted students can use their analytical thinking skills to help them cope with their emotional intensities.  Students can learn to use their exceptional thinking skills to tame their worries and anxiety.  We’ll discuss strategies from several sources you can teach your students to help them with decision-making, perfectionism, and worrying.

This session will take an in-depth look at several theoretical frameworks and models with a critical focus on the Academically Gifted Black Male Engagement model and Scholar Identity Model. In this interactive session, attendees will have the opportunity to consider research related to African American and LatinX Males in P-20 school settings presented via discussions and video segments, apply research presented to their experiences in school settings, and share practical strategies used to support these student populations.
