Diverse gifted students best develop talents through implementation of culturally-responsive teaching. However, university programs and gifted professional development often pay little attention to the needs of these learners. This research will identify professional development practices that increase culturally-responsive teaching, and identify strategies to integrate these practices into gifted teacher development. This research can be applied to teacher education and professional development. This research can also increase the relevant, high-quality opportunities for talent development in culturally-diverse student populations. Learn more about research being conducted in gifted education in this short research presentation.
